Tom is a guy, a guy guy. He has a group of friends and a gaggle of women he casually sleeps with. He refuses a real relationship. He has one best friend however, Hannah, she understands him like no other. But he still only sees her as a friend. One day she announces she has to go to Scotland for 6 weeks for her work. But what neither one of them expected was that Hannah would get engaged to a Scotsman and Tom would finally realize his feelings for Hannah. Then Hannah asks Tom to be her Maid of Honor. What will Tom do to get himself out of this predicament and into the arms of Hannah?
This is genuinely one of my favorite lovey-dovey movies. It’s a sweet and simple story yet packs some nail-biting action, hilarious laughter (looking at you Grandma with the Thunderbeads!) and hair raising suspense. If you are a fan of The Big Bang Theory, don’t miss out on Kevin Sussman’s (Stuart Bloom) part as the Tiny Shorts Guy. He is simply the best, you’ll see why…
I have to admit that the Scottish Highlands as shown in the movie are just an added bonus to the story.
Also a notable mention for the fellow Brides maids! They are terrific especially Busy Philipps.
I feel this is the perfect movie to curl up on a couch with and have a downright lovely time. I must also say that Michelle Monaghan and Patrick Dempsey just make the movie, they are a perfect casting and come across as credible characters which is often hard to find in romantic comedies nowadays.
I have to recommend this movie for Valentine’s Day, not to cheesy, not to cloyingly sweet, just right and good. See it!
