We rejoin the girls after the break in at the museum when it was revealed the map was still in their possession. As the girls try to figure out what the map is all about they realize that they are still being hunted down. By who? Who wants that map? What treasure is it hiding? The girls are about to find out and are about to get into some mischief of their own. Will they find the fortune?
I am genuinely enjoying this second volume of Misfit City. It focuses a lot less on The Gloomies this time around simply because everyone is in the adventure themselves this time around! It is fun, mysterious and fast paced. All the things I really like. You keep finding yourself thinking a step ahead and waiting to see if you are proven right or not. I love how we now are at a point in the story where the treasure hunt is about to start. We have the good guys and we have the baddies as any good adventure story warrants. In our heart of hearts we know that the goodies will triumph but how will it happen? What bad things are waiting for them? I am actually eager to pick up the next copy of this series to find out.
It sort of goes back to every child’s thoughts of wanting to be in a real adventure. I am still waiting for mine. Not that I expect to find a dusty old treasure map on an attic somewhere but I am open to the idea…
The art is still on point, focusing on the main story but slipping in those little important details that matter so much to the story. I say, bring on the next one!
