Megan is in dire need of a night off, together with her fellow teachers she goes out for a drink. Yet it seems that despite having gone out to cheer her up, her friends leave her to her own devices. It is then that she strikes up a conversation with Jack, who is the owner of Aeternum Winery. Jack takes an instant liking to her and decides to show her the wine cellar. Megan then makes an unbelievable discovery. It seems the wine has a will of its own…
Who knew that wine could magically transport you? Not only with the taste but actually transport you back in time? I genuinely love the idea of being transported back to the year the wine was bottled when having a few sips. What a fantastic idea! Part of me wishes this was a 500 page novel to curl up and read. But it leans itself perfectly to the comic book world. It gives you the visual along with the story.
The art is sweet, and lovely quite apt for the story as well. It places a lot of focus on the characters themselves and a bit less on the surroundings. And this is how it ought to be for this story really. The wine and the characters should be on the foreground, and it is great to see how it was done in this comic.
So in the end I would say grab yourself a glass of wine (or whatever else you like to indulge in, even a smoothie will do), curl up on your bed and get lost in an adorable story that will make you eager for the next installment. A very sweet and touching story overall.
