Queen Mera – ZentaiZone & Gun Head Design Review
As soon as I saw the new Queen Mera design from the Justice League movie, I knew I had to give it a go. The base suit is a wonderfully modern take on the classic design. I love the honeycomb look and graduated shading.
The Gun Head Design version really brings the beauty of it to light. The shading is natural and the highlights well placed. I’ve always stayed clear of shaded suits in the past because they’re often shaded for large breasts and end up looking ridiculous on tiny boobed me, but I didn’t have those issues with this suit. The only thing I wasn’t a huge fan of was how wide the shoulders were. While it looks great on and helps add the illusion of curves, it makes it difficult to find the right bra to wear with the costume. The costume also came with full gloves, which it doesn’t in the film. The gloves were well designed with a separate thumb and no sag around the wrist. I may alter these in the future to better match the movie.
Zentaizone were the crew that printed and sewed the costume together. My experience with cheaper Asian based sellers is of low quality; thin fabric, poor sewing etc. So, I was pleasantly surprised when I opened my Mera suit. The material is quite thick. I didn’t notice any sheer spots. It actually felt like it was the measurements I gave and not the closest off the rack as the suit fits like a glove. It’s very comfortable, seems to be well put together. I had no issues dipping it in salt water. The colour is still vibrant and the suit intact.
Based off this singular costume, I am very pleased with the suit and would happily purchase from ZentaiZone again. A shout out to Manic Madman Cosplay for the loan of his amazing trident!
