Tasty Treats in Belladonna Fire and Fury #6
For Mature Audiences only
Tasty Finger Licking
Belladonna and her shield maidens live on never backing down from a fight. But when you haven’t slept, haven’t eaten, and are dehydrated, a fight to survive could have been postponed for a later date. In Belladonna Fire and Fury #6, these feisty cannibal dwellers of Onyx island are savoring to overpower their unannounced guests. As the battle rages, dismembered body parts fly through the air as the shield maidens are fighting their best under the circumstances. Although caught off-guard, Belladonna sees a window of an opportunity. She dashes to their meat-loving queen leader Sable in hopes of slaying her for a swift victory. But when your queen has been drinking her blood-flavor vitamins most of her life, it’s no wonder Belladonna is swallowing a big spoonful of defeat. Its elbows off the table as my review of Belladonna Fire and Fury #6 order is up.
The women in the Viking times are brutal. There, I’ve said it for this reason alone. If I were to live in those times, I would most likely be dead. The cause of death, the sight of blood. Anyhow, Belladonna campaign successes were base on brute force with a band of exceptional combat female warriors. When she confronts Sable, she too has the same abilities with a strong mental lust for the human flesh of any sex out-savages Belladonna hands down. With Sable’s zealot community who are as hungry for the chance to sink their teeth in as their queen makes a formidable foe and the shield maidens are on the menu.
I love the backstory of Sable who comes from a womanizing and harsh background like Belladonna. Sable character wasn’t always living a high protein diet. She was a typical peasant girl who makes a difference in her life by devouring the competition, literally. She’s driven with the lust for power and conquer. Her mantra, a mentoring witch, allows her to rule over a tribe of blood-thirsty, and meat-eating people. What’s also interesting is Pat’s way of getting the main character in the worst possible trouble. This no-win scenario offers a cliff-hanger that readers will have to wait for next issue. There’s a side-story that could be the key to Belladonna and her maiden freedom or doom. Only time and the writers will tell.
Artwork / Coloring / Dialogue
Did I mention that this comic book is of adult content? Though mostly the women are nude with graphic panels throughout the pages, it’s well drawn. In fact, the Fire and Fury series has been amazingly noted for its detail artwork of the female body. Nahuel L. has not drawn fallen short of the many characters faces he’s made come alive. No two faces are exactly the same along with body build and their expression. The dialogue will grip readers from jumping to the next panel for a sneak peek. The panels are blood savage-looking during fight scenes and if you should buy the series, glance over each scene, slowly, reveals some interesting moments.
Obviously, there more to come in the Belladonna saga. The next issue hits the stands on an ongoing monthly basis, although I can see two issues remaining. Belladonna character often reflects some famous women from past history like Joan of Arc and the Israelite prophet-judge Deborah just to name of few. Her character of being self-determination warrior princess is bringing sexy back to the masses. Though there are as many possible conclusions to this saga as they are graphic scenes, one would hope to see a glorious end to the character. Belladonna is not the type of woman for the modern times, but she’s a killer, a lovely Viking woman, and someone who can take care of business and bring home the bacon. Next issue is June 27th.
