Flynn Carsen, The Librarian saw himself forced to recruit some new help after ten years of protecting The Library. Eve Baird, a counter-terrorism agent, Jake Stone an oil worker with an exceptional mind, Cassandra Cillian a synesthetic and finally Ezekiel Jones a master of technology. And it seems that it was none too soon, when things go wrong at a presentation. An artifact with mysterious inscriptions sends the team in a frenzy as they try to piece together the meaning of the item. But all things considered, do they really want to find out?
This is a new series of comics based on the world hit TNT television series. It is nice to see the series branch out to the world of comics. In the footsteps of The X-Files, Charmed and more The Librarians is bound to score high with this series, especially since it is in the middle of the hiatus for season 4.
It is a must for all fans of history, magical and mystical things and of course the series in and of itself.
The art is fresh, colorful and resembling the characters of the TV show. I have to say, you can’t go wrong with this. I can paint a colorful picture of how amazing this comic is but if you know the show, you already know it’s amazing. It still retains the fun and quirky side of every character and you’ll still have a chuckle here and there. It is basically the series on paper, and that is about as great as it gets for me. I am eagerly looking forward to read the next issues of this comic because this one ended with one heck of a great cliffhanger. And you know how cliffhangers just pull you right in! Give it a go, you won’t regret it, even if you haven’t seen a single episode of the series. Even then it is still a great series!
Join the Gang!
Way back in the swinging ’70s, movie producer Sol Schick was the guy behind such cheesy classics as “Quarry: Bigfoot!,” Noah’s Ark: Found at Last!” and “Heavenly Visitors from the Hell Above.” But when he’s murdered – at a film festival! – with a piece of Noah’s Ark! – THE LIBRARIANS are drawn into the mystery. Can their combination of special skills, obsessive curiosity and knowledge of forgotten lore figure out who – or what – spelled doom for Schick? And as they delve deeper into his past, is it possible that things are not as they seem and that all his crazy, wild movie…were telling the truth?
