The gang finds themselves in the cave searching for the treasure with Captain Denby. They aren’t sure yet if they are dealing with the real man or a ghostly entity. That being said they decide to trust him. At first it seems the treasure is long gone but a gutsy move my Pip reveals something entirely new. With the other Denby’s in hot pursuit they have to move fast. In doing so, however, they have no idea where they will end up. Or if they will end up, wherever that may be, alive to begin with.
The adventure caries on and the excitement rises constantly. You think you hit a dead end in the adventure but no, you are surprised by one more secret cave along the way. I am now very eager to discover the rest of the story. I feel I fall in constant repetition by saying how wonderful this comic is and remains throughout the story. But how can you improve on this story? I do not know. I keep on having a great time reading this series, still drawing parallels to The Goonies. The long and short of it remains a constant. The story is great, the art is great and you keep on being very eager to discover what will happen next. Truth be told, what else do you want in a comic?
I like how nothing is superfluous, that there aren’t any plot lines added that don’t really work solely to push the story forward. It is devoid of any trickery and it keeps standing firmly on its comic legs.
Strong from beginning to finish, or at least until this issue. Still deserve my highest rate of recommendation!
