Disney’s Merger of Fox has concluded
Today Disney has sealed the deal on the purchase of Fox Studios for the meager amount of $52.4 billion dollars. This has been a love it or hate it merger since the talks were announced.
On one hand fans are excited for the possibility of the X-Men and Fantastic Four finally joining the MCU; but on the other hand, the fate of the R rated juggernaut that is Deadpool is up in the air as the raunchy franchise doesn’t exactly fit Disney’s tone. What people seem to forget is The Mouse’s love for money. Deadpool made a billion dollars, don’t worry people, Deadpool will be fine.
This buyout does however, changes the landscape of Hollywood as a whole. With Fox “gone”, Disney and Warner Bros. are months only two major studios in the industry, meaning they are now not only the direct competition for shared universe comic book movies, but now in all aspects of their respective companies. This may become entertaining in its own way entirely.
