Star Wars Adventures: Heroes of the Galaxy is a small collection of short stories. In “Better The Devil You Know”, we see what happens when Unkar Plutt gets kidnapped on Jakku and Rey sets of to the rescue. In Tales From Wild Space “Stop, Thief!” we find ourselves in wild space with Emil, Crater and Boo where Emil shares the story of a thief by the name of Tri Tellon who finds herself smart after stealing from Obi-Wan Kenobi. Finally in Tales from Wild Space “The Flat Mountain of Yavin” we find ourselves once again with Emil, Boo and Crater, where we discover the story of Evaan Verlaine. Of course we cannot miss the bickering between C3PO and R2D2 going off on a story telling squabble and tangent.
This is an absolute great comic for young readers. Boys as well as girls will thoroughly enjoy discovering the Galaxy Far Far Away with all these old and new characters. The adventures are short and sweet but are told as if you are experiencing a day in the life of those characters.
There is a lot of full art pages throughout the comic and that alone makes it worth buying. It is wonderful to see such poignant and beautiful art throughout the stories as well. The colors are vivid and intense, really punctuating the stories told.
I have enjoyed reading this a lot and I would definitely recommend it to young readers who may or may not yet be a fan of Star Wars. My favorite story was Rey’s and it even showed a more humane side to Unkar Plutt. There is so much adventure to be discovered in these few stories.
At the back of the comic there are some character designs and small bios, they include Constable Zuvio, Krynodd, Kanna, Ramakak, Tryki, Unkar Plutt, Zool Zendiat and Bobbajo.
A wonderful way to introduce the world of Star Wars to younglings and Padawans alike and I for one cannot wait to read more.
