After having escaped the clutches of Mother Gothel, Rapunzel has to discover who she really is. Is she just a Princess or is she something more? Those answers are not easy to come by. She also needs to live up to everything a Princess is supposed to be. Luckily, she is not on her own to do this but is joined by friends and family alike.
This is a lovely compilation of 8 short stories that shows Rapunzel learning to navigate her way in the world. The stories are called Guarding Against Adventure, Occupation Princess, Eugene’s Surprise, Stuck With C.U.D.D.L.E.S., Taking The Cake, Lend A Helping Foot, The Lost Letter and Hair Raising. All the stories are equally cute and lovely. They also are a great continuation of the animated feature.
The stories are filled with action, hijinks and laughter, and a must have for all Disney fans. I thoroughly enjoyed discovering more of Rapunzel’s life. They comic also has a great art gallery included of full page art by Ivan Shravin, Rosa La Barbera, Vita Efremova, Roberto DiSalvo, Nahtan Greno, Heather Breckel, Manny Mederos, Alesya Barsukova, Gabby Zapata and Kaitlyn Ritter. There are 7 pages in total. If I am honest I would buy a second comic, simply to frame the art, it is that beautiful!
Another thing I find quite special is that every frame in this comic has a special way of being presented. In medallions, circles, odd shapes, covered in Rapunzel’s hair, tree branches, you name it, they did it. This really adds to the overall Disney flair of this comic, and makes the colors explode of the page and offers beautiful frames for the art in itself.
Do surprise your little one with the comic, or buy it for yourself, either way, if you are a Disney fan, just get it!
