Scarlet Rose is back and ready for revenge. We discover the ramifications of killing an abusive woman. The Madam is pissed and eager to make that sentiment known, and when The Madam speaks, you better listen or death seems to be a little side-effect. Will Scarlet Rose be able to get her point across in time?
It took a while, but Popova is back once more. It feels great to delve back into the story to learn more about the background of certain characters. But not only that, we are submerged into intense action and heartfelt story-telling from the first frame. The path this story seems to take isn’t what you expected from the first comic but nevertheless it has you sitting on the edge of your seat wanting to find out more.
I cannot help but feel I am reading a storyboard for a new movie that is due to come out soon. And I hope it will happen at some point in time. This is a story that deserves to be told with all media available.
The power of the story has only amplified since the first album and seems to suit the current situation of the world even more, which in and of itself is quite scary if you think of it… I feel this is a series that will stand the test of time.
The artwork is once more bold and powerful, it grabs you by the throat and forces you to look closer. It demands attention, and it gets it in spades.
The comic also comes with script-to-page breakdowns. Once again, a great comic that I cannot put down and am so eager to know more of. I have never read a comic that hit me deeper than this one, it is that good. I feel that I lack the words to sing its praises but believe me I’ll try.
