Gasolina #12 is a gangsta’s paradise for sure! This series, of course, is a horrific crime story even though that’s just a couple of its aspects. Every issue has been more than an enjoyable read for me. This title has been getting heavier and heavier. There is always a good amount of horror, but this is the scariest it’s been with straight up gangster violence. It’s been there but it exploded in this issue with a holy crap scene hit man vs demon scene. I say “scene” because this book plays out like a movie, as a matter of fact, it’s so good at times you may forget you’re reading a book. You’ll get so lost in it that you too may think you’re watching a movie or television series.
Sean Mackiewicz, writer/creator of this series, has mapped out this series so well I don’t think I could ever stop reading this title. I love Sean’s writing on this series! This title has been woven together so well it would easily make my all-time top ten lists for comics. Hats off to Sean and this creative team for such a great read for a more mature reader, job well done.
Niko Walter Artist/Creator the mastermind of the physical storytelling for Gasolina. Together with Sean, he’s brought their combined creation to life. Niko does all the pencils and inks or layouts and finishes if you like. He has the secret weapon of Mat Lopes as his colorist helping them bring this dark world to life.
This is a gritty dramatic horror crime book that you don’t want to miss one of the best books that Image has produced all year. This has been at the top of my reading list month after month for a year now. Congratulations to Sean, Niko, Mat & Rus on a terrific ride and the journey is really just beginning. Gasolina #12 is on shelves now, don’t miss this book! Remember as always please like, comment, share and keep it geek!
