Oh boy, where do I even begin with this first issue, there is so many feels but only so much can be said without me boring anyone to pieces. For those who have yet to read it please be cautioned I will be spoiling a few things. When I first found out we were getting a Life is Strange comic book series taking place AFTER the events of the first game I was over the moon! Yes Life is Strange 2 is out now but we don’t have Max and Chloe (and hey I am actually ok with that) but I still miss them like so many others. To see them return in some capacity is a win in my books and this first issue is off to such an amazing start. It answers so many of my questions that I enjoyed every minute I had reading it and actually re-read it quite a few times.
Plot-wise we are back in Arcadia Bay post the tornado to end all tornados. It seems they decided to go with one choice which was to let Arcadia Bay being destroyed and save Chloe. This makes me wonder if this is official canon or not and is the actual real ending to Life is Strange. We will just have to wait on official word on that from Dotnod and Square Enix I guess. The Prescott Family decide to hold a dedication ceremony to make the two years since they “lost their son” to the tornado. They vow that the town will be revived despite the horrific devastation. Max and Chloe have some new friends now who happen to be in a band, Chloe has an internship.
The two are still thick as thieves and yes a romantic kind of relationship is hinted at between them. Anyways Max starts experiencing strange things almost alternate realities with Chloe specifically. She may not have her “rewind” power anymore but something is definitely up and it’s getting pretty freaky for both of them. Could this be a consequence of her saving Chloe instead of Arcadia Bay? I have so many questions still and my interest is peaked to the max (no pun intended). This will have die-hard fans on the edge of their seats as its a light easy read but yes you still have the feels!
I love the art style of this comic so so much. It’s a whole new look for them but it works very well. The variant covers just for the first issue will surely have collectors in awe. I sincerely enjoyed my time with it and I hope others will as well. The first issue titled Life is Strange Dust Part 1 /4 is out now and you can score a copy at your local comic book store or online. I know for a fact I want to own every variant cover (cause that just how big a fan of Life is Strange that I am). Let us know which cover is your favorite and if you plan on picking this up.
