Resident Evil 3 Remake May be in Development
It’s an exciting time for fans of the Resident Evil franchise with the upcoming and highly anticipated remake of the second (and possibly most iconic) title in the series on the horizon. Breaking news from sources at Capcom are also suggesting that the equally memorable third game – ‘Resident Evil 3: Nemesis’. A title which originally graced the Playstation in 1999 is also up for the remastering treatment. The source is a well respected member of the ResetEra forum and is known for leaking reliable Resident Evil news. DuskGolem claims that a full remake of this tense survival horror classic is ‘in development right now’ but wouldn’t comment any further.
Resident Evil 3 : Nemesis takes place 24 hours before and after Resident Evil 2 and features former S.T.A.R.S member Jill Valentine attempting to escape a zombie filled Racoon City while being hunted by one of Umbrella’s biological superweapons – The Nemesis. If this remake does happen, I hope that it will follow in the same vein as the Resident Evil 2 remastering, no tank controls, the design, look and feel of the title having dramatic overhauls. Nemesis featured one of the best storylines of the series and having this seemingly unstoppable monster burst through the scenery, shocking and terrifying you as you walked the streets of Raccoon City was an absolute treat,
I won’t be surprised if this rumour turns out to be true and all Resident Evil fans have cause to celebrate with the imminent release of the Resident Evil 2 remake coming on the 25th of January. Stay tuned to Outright Geekery for more news!
