Dandy Don the Valiant Review: FINGER GUNS #1 – Itchy Trigger Fingers!
Finger Guns #1
Oh, hey, Mom. No, I would NEVER show that finger to you! You raised me better than that. These are finger guns. You know? Like when me and my friends played cops and robbers as kids. Well, put your glasses on. What do you mean you can’t find them? They’re on your head! Mom, you have to unhook your glasses from your wig. It looks like you have a beard. Geesh. Sorry about that OG peeps. Now, let’s get to this week’s Dandy Don the Valiant’s weekly review.
When I saw the Vault title, Finger Guns, I knew I had to read this issue right away. I thought with a title like that, this was going to be a hilarious story from front to back. It was definitely fun, but it was more serious than I thought it would be, and I loved it. What an original and interesting concept for a story by Justin Richards. And it works! It starts out with a teenage boy named Wes finding out he can give people bad attitudes by pointing his fingers and shooting them with his imaginary gun. He thought it was funny watching people lose control thanks to him. It’s never explained how he magically got this power all of a sudden, but I do have my guess (I’m not telling you. You really need to buy this issue!). He soon finds out that he’s not the only one that has this power. A teenage girl named Sadie has them, too, but hers is a little different. Along with the finger guns story line, both teenagers have their own drama at home. It looks like these two were meant to find each other. I can’t wait to see where this story is going to take us. Issue #2 can’t get here quick enough, especially after reading that cliffhanger ending. Uh, oh!
This first issue was brilliantly crafted by Justin Richards and beautifully drawn by Val Halvorson. This needs to be on your pull list. So, call your LCS today. Don’t be on the wrong end of a finger gun by missing out on this first issue. CALL NOW! It’s totally worth it!
No, Mom, that’s not how you use finger guns. That’s the wrong finger. Oh, boy.
