Because there’s nothing like riding out a pandemic like a good book!
Tony and Eli: Star Wars Bounty Hunters #1
Tony: Boba Fett, Valance, Bossk! All of my favorite characters are coming together for a winner-take-all adventure. Here I am trying to save money and clear out a little bit of my collection and Marvel goes and puts out this! Thanks a lot House of Ideas. Oh, what am I saying- Shuddup and Take My Money!
Eli: Marvel have been putting out some of the best storytelling to come out of the Star Wars universe ever since Disney acquired Lucasfilm. The comics have shown characters being way cooler than they ever were portrayed in the movies. Bounty Hunters is sure to deal with the more gritty crime element from the Star Wars mythology. The art on the cover looks amazing. So stoked to read this book.
Writer: Ethan Sacks
Artist: Paolo Villanelli
NEVER BETRAY A BOUNTY HUNTER – ESPECIALLY IF IT’S BOBA FETT!

Every bounty hunter in the galaxy wants a piece and Valance is hell-bent on getting to the prize first. He has score to settle-but so does Boba Fett!

Don: The Batman’s Grave #6
I love this series. This gets Batman back to what he was known for best: detective work. It gets back to the basics of what has made Batman one of the most popular heroes of all-time. The writing by Warren Ellis is fast-paced and there are a lot of no word panels by Bryan Hitch & Kevin Nowland that explains a high-octane scene without word balloons. Brilliant pages that would make wonderful works of framed art in these issues! This is the halfway point of the series. If you haven’t been reading this, go back and find the first 5 issues and catch up on this series. It’s worth it! This is going to wind up being a true classic Batman series for the ages.
Writer: Warren Ellis
Artist: Bryan Hitch, Kevin Nowland
The Batman is trapped in the most dangerous house in Gotham City, trying to protect Commissioner Gordon from a secret army out to kill anyone involved in the justice system. The war on the law has only just begun.
Publisher: DC Comics
Joshua: Judge Dredd 100-Page Giant
We don’t get a lot of Dredd in the US and honestly I don’t understand why? Ignorance of the Law is no excuse! Dredd has always been one of my guilty pleasures and for $5.99 this is the perfect start to anyone’s education.
Take a trip through the rough streets of Mega-City One with the one-and-only Judge Dredd! Featuring amazing stories from an all-star cast of writers and artists that stretch from the filthy underbelly of Mega-City One to beyond its walls, there’s never been a better place to see what you’ve been missing.

Zack: Beware the Witch’s Shadow: Happy New Fear #1
I like horror anthology, especially the E.C. Comics variety. With that in mind, this comic from American Mythology seems right up my alley.

Joe and David: Decorum #1
Joe: So I find myself with only 1 title on my pull list for this week. So for my pick, I went to the Previews to see what intrigued me. Decorum #1 (of 8) leapt right out at me. A tale of a well mannered, intergalactic assassin? Color me interested. The cover art is cool, and the interiors will hopefully have the same style. Plus, I’m sold based on the floating pirate ship alone.
David: A new series from Jonathan Hickman and Mike Huddleston. Not much is known about this series other than it centers around the universe’s best mannered assassin. Hickman is performing miracles at Marvel with their X-Men franchise, so let’s hope some of that magic lends itself to this series. Not to mention that having Huddleston on art duties isn’t a bad thing, too. So yeah, this is worth picking up.
Writer: Jonathan Hickman
Artist: Mike Huddleston
SERIES PREMIERE! There are many assassins in the known universe. This is the story of the most well-mannered one. “Manners are a sensitive awareness of the feelings of others. If you have that awareness, you have good manners, no matter what knife you use.”

Angel: Batman and the Outsiders #11
I enjoy Bryan Hill’s writing, and Dexter Soy’s artwork, so it’s easy pick for me. Anything Batman always has my interest, whether it’s solo books, or teams. Batman and the Outsiders has a solid cast of characters alongside Batman, and tossing Ra’s al Ghul in doesn’t hurt, either.
Writer: Bryan Hill
Artist: Dexter Soy
Black Lightning is an Outsider no more! It’s up to Katana to take up the reigns of leader-ship as things look their darkest for the team-and the new addition of Babylon has thrown the team into flux. Plus, Batman is far from thrilled with the secrets that the Signal and Orphan are keeping from him. And this is exactly what Ra’s al Ghul wants: a broken team that doesn’t stand a chance against his new League and their deadliest assassin yet.

Gaumer: Cable #1
One of my very favorite things in comics in the last year or so has been Marvel’s new X-Men initiative, and I am not alone it seems. Marvel has been pushing out X-Men comics like crazy, and now we’re getting a Cable solo book. I’d turn up my nose of the line wasn’t as good as it’s been, but with Gerry Duggan writing for that amazing Phil Noto art it’s an easy sell for me. The next Dawn of X title Cable #1 is on the very top of my comic stack this week.
Writer: Gerry Duggan
Artist: Phil Noto
THE DAWN OF REBELLION!
Cable was a grizzled old veteran of the wars to save the future… and he will be again. But for now, he’s a young mutant living in paradise leading a life of adventure! Nathan Summers, son of two of the most powerful mutants on Krakoa, has a destiny leading the youth of mutantkind in rebellion… so why not start now? Gerry Duggan (MARAUDERS, DEADPOOL) and Phil Noto (STAR WARS, POE DAMERON) bring us young Cable as we’ve never seen him before!

William: Batman: Tales of the Demon HC
So yeah I’m a huge DC guy I grew up on Batman and Neal Adams was a huge part of that. Last year I had the opportunity to meet and talk with Neal and thank him for all his incredible work on the Batman franchise he and Jim Aparo were the two biggest artists from my childhood. So instead of picking up my regular books this week my pick is Batman Tales of the Demon HC!

Brian and Joshua: Rai #5
Brian: Rai is quickly becoming my favorite title of 2020 due to Abnett’s amazing ability to tell a great new story with an already established character. Ryp’s art also does an amazing job of making sure the eye is attracted to every single panel, furthering the appeal even more. This is a book I always anticipate, but this week it definitely stands above the rest with a big secret being teased as well as a bloody battle that I would imagine is going to be nothing short of visually spectacular with Ryp penciling.
Joshua: Rai just had a stand-off with his ex-buddy Eternal Warrior over a small commune that has tried to do its own thing, not knowing that the evil Father wants something they have. Writer Dan Abnett and artist Juan Jose Ryp are the pilots on the best monthly book from Valiant.
Writer: Dan Abnett
Artist: Juan Jose Ryp
Rai and the Eternal Warrior fight in a bloody war against Bloodfather’s forces in the battle for Hope Srings.
Secrets will be revealed as a new truth is discovered about Rai! What has he been hiding?
