Catleen Cosplay Interview
Hello to all of our couch patriots out there. This is Outright Geekery with a one on one interview with this Budapest beauty. This classic soul has been cosplaying for years and now offering her expertise and knowledge of cosplay wear blueprinting and 3D printing. Smart and Geeky, she’s one of a kind, especially with her studies of ancient languages. Please give an Outright Geekery warm welcome to CatleenCosplay.
OG: Hello Catleen and thank you so much for doing this interview with Outright Geekery. We can’t thank you enough.
Cat: Thank you for having me to this interview.
OG: We, at Outright Geekery, will offer words of encouragement so that in time like these will bring hope in your heart and a smile on your face. Here’s goes,” Life is too short to be serious all the time. So, if you cannot laugh at yourself, call me… I’ll laugh at you!” well then, let us begin, please tell our readers all about you?
Cat: I was born in Budapest – the capital of Hungary – but we moved to Germany three years ago with my husband (who is also a cosplayer). I love to be in this country, besides my German is not the best, but everybody is patient and kind in here, and I could speak in English very well. I got a degree from ancient histories, so I could read and write in so many dead languages, like Coptic and ancient Egyptian. I love animals, all of them, I have a dog and three cats, and soon will adopt a little bunny from our friend. I’m not a morning person and first thing in the day I grab my coffee and drink it to be able to function like a normal human being 😉 Cosplay is fun of my many hobbies, I like to read sci-fi novels, see sci-fi series or movies – yes, I love sci-fi.
OG: So tell us, Catleen. Do you love Budapest enough the best Uber driver?
Cat: I loved to live in Budapest, this place is always in my heart, I know every street, every good restaurant and every good photo shooting place in this city.
OG: Where would you live if Budapest wasn’t in the picture?
Cat: But if I could live anywhere in this world, I move to London – I’m a huge fan of big, noisy cities.
OG: How did the cosplay world crash into your life and what became of it?
Cat: My best friend introduced me to cosplay in 2011, and it was love at first sight. My first costume was Mai from Avatar: The Last Airbender series, and I still have that dress.
OG: What was your biggest cosplay challenge?
Cat: My first big challenging cosplay as Wonder Woman in 2017. That armor is sadly so damaged about the moving process, so I need to make a new one.
OG: Was there a particular cosplay outfit you absolutely loved wearing?
Cat: I love every cosplay I made or worn, I always choose outfits and characters I like and feel close to my personality, and every cosplay is a lesson and I love to learn.
OG: Should people be the character who’s body matches the character?
Cat: Cosplay is for everyone. I think this amazing hobby is not just about crafting or the body it’s about love and passion for what you love, what you feel, and how you transform it into yourself.
OG: What do you see yourself in the near future with your cosplay artistry?
Cat: In the future, I want to expand my cosplay business bigger. Now I made blueprints and 3d files about characters stuff, but I have a daily job and it’s really hard to find free time to work for your own business.
OG: Are you able to profit from your work or is a labor of love?
Cat: In the past, I made a lot of commission like the Fishbone from League of Legends or Thor armor.
OG: Though the world is on hold for now, when things get back to normal, what can we expect to see Catleen in 2020?
Cat: In 2020 I will expand more 3d files, and want to make more blueprints as well. I working my costumes really hectic, so choose my works with love and passion, and this drives me what blueprints I made. Like, this month I made a Leia Organa and Stahma Tarr costume so I working on their blueprints.
